Out of the chaos tucked away at the base of Point Perry, Coolum was a lovely spot to paint. As usual, my crashing waves was where I was drawn to. Roma ventured out with her first test run of plein air painting and found a lot of colours everywhere! "Is it blue? Is it purple? I see green!" Yes it is all of those! Welcome to the world of Plein Air where you see so much more than you expect. All was calm when a small crash was heard from Anne's direction. "Oh dear!" was heard quite a few times.... Anne's box of pastels had tipped to the ground. Pastels all over the rocks, in crevices, in pieces. Always one to be positive Anne laughed as we picked them all up and found a stick we thought was a willow charcoal but, no it was only a stick. You can see how the turquoise goes so well with the colour of the rocks! Welcome to the world of Plein Air Anne! We were blessed to have some great company today with a fellow artist, Sheelagh visiting all the way from Colorado. The timing was perfect with her holidays here on the coast coinciding with our painting day! Isn't art a great way to make new friends. I look forward to going to Colarado to paint with Sheelagh and her art group. Welcome to the Sunshine Coast Sheelagh! Of course the most important part was enjoyed by all. We welcomed well earned coffee break!
